3D Caddo Effigy Vessel from the Belcher Site

This week I’m at the Williamson Museum in Natchitoches, Louisiana scanning Caddo burial vessels from the Belcher and Gahagan sites, and wanted to share one with you. Click the leave a comment tab below, and tell me what animal you think this vessel might be portraying. Fish, bird…?

This is one small part of a much larger project funded by the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training aimed at better understanding variation in Caddo vessel shape, and we extend our gratitude to them for their continued support.
